What's Included in a Roadworthy (RWC) Inspection?

A Roadworthy Certificate, also known as an 'RWC,' indicates that your vehicle is safe for use on public roads. You'll need a roadworthy certificate when selling a vehicle, re-registering it, or addressing certain defects. The roadworthy inspection encompasses checks on various safety-related components, including:

  • Wheels and tires
  • Steering and suspension
  • Brakes
  • Seats and seat belts
  • Structural elements of the vehicle
  • Windscreen and windows
  • Emission and exhaust systems
  • Lights and reflectors
  • Other safety-related components on the body, chassis, or engine

What's Not Included in the Roadworthy (RWC) Inspection?

It's important to note that the roadworthiness test doesn't assess the mechanical reliability or general condition of your vehicle. A Certificate of Roadworthiness does not imply:

  • The vehicle is in pristine condition without any wear or deterioration
  • Non-safety-related accessories, such as air conditioning, rear window demisters, and rear-window wipers, are in working order
  • The items checked during the roadworthy inspection will continue to function after the inspection (e.g., a brake light may stop working after the inspection)
  • Compliance with all Australian Design Rules (ADRs)

Trust Mildura Autohaus for a thorough and compliant roadworthy inspection to ensure your vehicle's safety on the road.
